The Phobos Space Station?

Phobos is, in fact--

An "ancient ... ex terrestrial ... very battered ... 15-mile-long"-- Spaceship.

Which now (according to our European sources -- backed up by the actual Mars Express data itself, which you will see more of - below) ESA is about to officially ... publicly announce!

Possibly -- even before President Obama's up-coming ... suddenly-called ... STILL super-secret "Space Summit"--Which is scheduled to take place, within a few days, at the Kennedy Space Center -- personally hosted by the President of the United States of America -- in the middle of an on-going shuttle mission-- STS-131.

Which, turns out to be ... the 33rd Space Shuttle Mission ... to the Space Station ("ISS"). Can you say "the Fix is in" ... for "something?"

phobos

Regardless of these "politically symbolic numbers," the primary reason we can be increasingly confident about the outcome of these coming "ESA revelations" -- is because of the strength and depth of the published scientific evidence that stands behind these findings and conclusions; not only the stunning, obviously "artificial Phobos" now seen in the Mars Express close-ups (above) -- but the still-to-be-discussed results of two other key scientific experiments, carried out by Mars Express during these same fly-bys:

The "Phobos tracking" gravity/mass interior distribution experiment ... and the "MARSIS interior of Phobos" imaging radar experiment.

Spacecraft are usually monitored (tracked ...) by means of their broadcast radio transmissions; if the carrier frequency of the on-board radio system on the spacecraft is observed to vary ... as it is received by the ground stations here on Earth ... the major reason is usually a change (detected via a radio phenomenon called "the Doppler Shift") in the spacecraft orbit.

This orbit-change can be pre-planned -- the result of an on-board commanded thruster firing -- or (in the case of the close-in Mars Express Phobos observations), due to the slight gravitational field of the ~15-mile-wide moonlet itself being detected -- actually altering (very, very slightly ...) the expected (predicted) orbital trajectory of Mars Express around Mars ... during those super-close Phobos passes.

Israel attacks Gaza aid fleet – 19 killed

Under darkness of night, Israeli commandoes dropped from a helicopter onto the Turkish passenger ship, Mavi Marmara, and began to shoot the moment their feet hit the deck. They fired directly into the crowd of civilians asleep. According to the live video from the ship, two have been killed, and 31 injured. Al Jazeera has just confirmed the numbers.  Free Gaza Movement

Israeli forces have attacked a flotilla of aid-carrying ships aiming to break the country's siege on Gaza. Up to 16 people were killed and more than 30 people injured when troops stormed the Freedom Flotilla early on Monday, the Israeli Army Radio said.

The flotilla was attacked in international waters, 65km off the Gaza coast. Footage from the flotilla's lead vessel, the Mavi Marmara, showed armed Israeli soldiers boarding the ship and helicopters flying overhead.

Al Jazeera's Jamal Elshayyal, on board the Mavi Marmara, said Israeli troops had used live ammunition during the operation. The Israeli Army Radio said soldiers opened fire "after confronting those on board carrying sharp objects". Free Gaza Movement, the organisers of the flotilla, however, said the troops opened fire as soon as they stormed the ships.

Aid flotilla sets sail for Gaza

A flotilla comprising six ships aiming to break Israel's siege of the Gaza Strip has set sail from a port in Cyprus. Two other ships were damaged over the weekend, and remain in port in Cyprus.

gaza flotilla

Al Jazeera's Mohamed Vall, reporting from the flotilla's lead vessel, Mavi Marmara, said the ships finally left port on Sunday, after several false starts. "People [on board] are relaxing, they are having their supper, very happy the final journey has started," he said.

"We have so many kinds of people here ... all of different creeds, philosophies and politics. "But they are all united around one goal - they want to break the siege on Gaza and do something about what they call an injustice against the Palestinian people."

The organisers of the fleet, dubbed the Freedom Flotilla, said they might launch a second smaller convoy of boats on Tuesday, which would include the two damaged ships, plus a third that has yet to arrive.

The plight of Ahmadiyya Muslims in Pakistan

Friday’s terror attacks targeting two mosques run by the minority Ahmadiyya community show that Mohammed Ali Jinnah’s Pakistan has become an intolerant nation where religious and sectarian minorities live in fear, remain vulnerable, and are provided no protection by the state.

This mindset is not limited to the Taliban, who kill in the name of religion. There is no shortage in Pakistan of sectarian and militant outfits that feel justified in murdering Ahmadiyyas, Shias, Christians and Hindus — or anyone who doesn’t share their views.

Most of these Sunni Deobandi organisations have their genesis in the Zia-ul-Haq era, a dark chapter in the country’s history which is responsible for rending our social fabric and fanning the flames of intolerance.

The Ahmadiyyas are a Muslim sect which was founded in Qadian, Punjab, in the 19th century. Its founder was Mirza Ghirlam Ahmad, a Muslim, who claimed prophetic status as the Mahdi or Messiah, in succession to Krishna, Jesus Christ, and Mohammed.

Inside the violent world of Britain's new far right - English Defence League

MPs expressed concern tonight after it emerged that far-right activists are planning to step up their provocative street campaign by targeting some of the UK's highest-profile Muslim communities, raising fears of widespread unrest this summer.

EDL

Undercover footage shot by the Guardian reveals the English Defence League, which has staged a number of violent protests in towns and cities across the country this year, is planning to "hit" Bradford and the London borough of Tower Hamlets as it intensifies its street protests.

Senior figures in the coalition government were briefed on the threat posed by EDL marches this week. Tomorrow up to 2,000 EDL supporters are expected to descend on Newcastle for its latest protest.

MPs said the group's decision to target some of the UK's most prominent Muslim communities was a blatant attempt to provoke mayhem and disorder. "This group has no positive agenda," said the Bradford South MP, Gerry Sutcliffe. "It is an agenda of hate that is designed to divide people and communities. We support legitimate protest but this is not legitimate, it is designed to stir up trouble. The people of Bradford will want no part of it."

Italian priests' secret mistresses ask pope to scrap celibacy rule

Dozens of Italian women who have had relationships with Roman Catholic priests or lay monks have endorsed an open letter to the pope that calls for the abolition of the celibacy rule. The letter, thought by one signatory to be unprecedented, argues that a priest "needs to live with his fellow human beings, experience feelings, love and be loved".

It also pleads for understanding of those who "live out in secrecy those few moments the priest manages to grant [us] and experience on a daily basis the doubts, fears and insecurities of our men".

Priest_nun

The issue was put back on the Vatican's agenda in March when one of Pope Benedict's senior advisers, Cardinal Christoph Schönborn, the archbishop of Vienna, said the abolition of the celibacy rule might curb sex abuse by priests, a suggestion he hastily withdrew after Benedict spoke up for "the principle of holy celibacy".

The authors of the letter said they decided to come into the open after hearing his retort, which they said was an affirmation of "the holiness of something that is not holy" but a man-made rule. There are many instances of married priests in the early centuries of Christianity. Today, priests who follow the eastern Catholic rites can be married, as can those who married before converting to Roman Catholicism from Anglicanism

Von Braun: Illuminate Plan For E.T. Deception

Dr. Wernher von Braun, the head of the Nazi rocket program, was brought to America after the war because our government considered his knowledge and expertise too vital to fall into enemy hands.

braun

Dr. von Braun brought a wealth of information gleaned from other top Nazi scientists like his boss, SS General Hans Kammler.  Von Braun was privy to work on anti gravity propulsion vehicles.  With access to NASA's secret programs, von Braun apparently began to see the "big picture" regarding the true goals of America's space program and how the military-industrial complex was manipulating it according to a secret, hidden agenda.

Dr. Carol Rosin was an industry executive when she first met Dr. Wernher von Braun in February 1974.  At this time, before his death in 1977,  von Braun confided to Dr. Rosin NASA's hidden agenda.

Inviting her into his office, Von Braun stunned Dr. Rosin by explaining that it was all leading to planetary control under an oppressive One World Government.

;

According to Dr. Rosin, von Braun then gave her one supreme assignment: He said a secretive trans-national power, already in existence, would move to permanently take control of this planet thru a hoaxed alien invasion from outer space.

According to von Braun,  space based weapons, later known as the "Star Wars" program, were to be promoted as a "shield" against the Russians.  Then, as a defense against  'rogue' nations. Then, as protection against asteroids and meteors. Finally they would be presented as a safeguard against an extraterrestrial threat.

Japan starts trial of activist who boarded whaling ship

The trial of an anti-whaling activist detained in the Southern Ocean during clashes with Japan's whaling fleet has opened in Tokyo.

Peter Bethune from New Zealand, a member of the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society, boarded a ship in February. He pleaded guilty to four charges, including trespass and obstructing commercial activities, but denied a fifth charge of assault. If convicted he could receive a maximum sentence of 15 years in prison.

"Regarding the assault charge, I deny the charge," he told the Tokyo District Court. He is alleged to have injured a Japanese crew member by throwing a butyric acid stink bomb. "For the disruption of business, I admit that I fired the butyric acid but there were additional circumstances that we will discuss in court," he said.

This is the first time an anti-whaling protestor has been brought to Japan for trial.

In China a factory worker has died after falling from a high building, the latest in a string of such deaths at the same plant. The man, who was 19, was employed by Foxconn, a Taiwanese firm also known as Honhai.

Police are not saying yet whether this was a suicide attempt, a suspicious death or an accident. It happened just one day after Foxconn started playing music to workers on the assembly line to try to ease the pressure on them.

Before this latest incident the company's founder had denied he worked his staff too hard.

North Korea 'on combat alert'

North Korea has reportedly ordered its armed forces to be placed on combat alert amid rising tensions on the Korean peninsula following the March 26 sinking of a South Korean naval vessel.

north-korea

The order came directly from North Korea's leader, Kim Jong-il, South Korea's Yonhap news agency said on Tuesday, quoting sources inside the North. There was no reference to the order on North Korean media monitored in the South, nor any immediate comment from South Korean officials. North Korea has previously threatened "all-out war" in response to any moves to punish it for the sinking.

The report comes a day after the United Nations secretary-general joined the US in ratcheting up pressure on North Korea, calling for action from the Security Council in response to the alleged torpedo attack on a South Korean patrol ship that left 46 sailors dead.

Israel offered to sell South Africa nuclear weapons

Secret South African documents reveal that Israel offered to sell nuclear warheads to the apartheid regime, providing the first official documentary evidence of the state's possession of nuclear weapons.

The-secret-military-agree

The "top secret" minutes of meetings between senior officials from the two countries in 1975 show that South Africa's defence minister, PW Botha, asked for the warheads and Shimon Peres, then Israel's defence minister and now its president, responded by offering them "in three sizes". The two men also signed a broad-ranging agreement governing military ties between the two countries that included a clause declaring that "the very existence of this agreement" was to remain secret.

The documents, uncovered by an American academic, Sasha Polakow-Suransky, in research for a book on the close relationship between the two countries, provide evidence that Israel has nuclear weapons despite its policy of "ambiguity" in neither confirming nor denying their existence.

The Israeli authorities tried to stop South Africa's post-apartheid government declassifying the documents at Polakow-Suransky's request and the revelations will be an embarrassment, particularly as this week's nuclear non-proliferation talks in New York focus on the Middle East.

'We will be able to live to 1,000'

Life expectancy is increasing in the developed world. But Cambridge University geneticist Aubrey de Grey believes it will soon extend dramatically to 1,000. Here, he explains why.

Aubrey-de-Grey

Ageing is a physical phenomenon happening to our bodies, so at some point in the future, as medicine becomes more and more powerful, we will inevitably be able to address ageing just as effectively as we address many diseases today.

Since these therapies repair accumulated damage, they are applicable to people in middle age or older who have a fair amount of that damage. “I think the first person to live to 1,000 might be 60 already.”

At the entrance to the court, Vanunu gave a statement to the press with a message to the Mossad and the Shin Bet, "What you didn't receive in the 18 years that I sat in prison, you won't get now in three months. Vanunu read from a page he had pre-prepared with a list of people he claimed are not protecting his freedom of expression.

"Shame on you, Israel, and the stupid Shin Bet and Mossad spies who are returning me to jail after 24 years in which I have spoken only the truth. Shame on you, democracy, the Knesset, synagogues, the world media. Shame on you, all the Arabs who are allowing me to return to jail. UK MoD blew up 119 live pigs in explosive tests

Animal rights campaigners expressed outrage last night after the Ministry of Defence admitted blowing up 119 live pigs in explosives tests.

The MoD defended the experiments, saying they had 'saved many lives' in Afghanistan and Iraq. They have led to improvements in body armour and the medical treatment of soldiers injured by roadside bombs, it said.

But animal welfare activists criticised the 'unethical' practice of causing 'massive mutilation and injury' to the pigs.

The research took place at the Government's secret military research laboratory Porton Down, near Salisbury, Wiltshire, between 2006 and 2009. Official figures reveal 25 pigs were used in improvised explosive device experiments in 2006, 19 in 2007, 40 in 2008, and 35 in 2009. The animals are anaesthetised before the explosions.

Parents of under-fives face ‘nanny state’ home inspections to keep children safe

Draft guidelines issued yesterday call for all UK families to have the option of home safety inspections by trained staff from the NHS or local councils. Health and safety organisations are told to identify homes where children are thought to be most at risk of accidents and ‘offer home risk assessments’.
In some cases, the offer will come after GPs or school nurses have raised the alarm because a child has been to hospital repeatedly for emergency treatment.

police
‘A home risk assessment involves systematically identifying potential hazards in the home, evaluating those risks and proving information or advice on how to reduce them,’ says the guidance.
The scheme is being condemned by critics as a breach of privacy and a nanny state intrusion into family life.

The extraordinary assertion, made in a publication sanctioned by China's ruling Communist Party, suggests that the world came perilously close to nuclear war just seven years after the Cuban missile crisis.

He said Soviet diplomats warned Washington of Moscow's plans "to wipe out the Chinese threat and get rid of this modern adventurer," with a nuclear strike, asking the US to remain neutral.

Polish Crash provided Moscow with a windfall of Nato Secrets

The recent crash of a Polish military transport that killed most of Warsaw's senior civilian and military leaders was not only a human catastrophe for a key U.S. ally. The crash killed Polish President Lech Kaczynski in western Russia on April 10 and decapitated Poland's military, killing two service chiefs, key military aides and several national security officials, many of whom were carrying computers and pocket memory sticks that contained sensitive NATO data.

Some carried handwritten signs saying, "Today they ban gays, tomorrow they will ban you," in a short-lived protest that was the first of its kind organized by the Russian and Belarussian Slavic Pride rights group in the capital. Police refused to comment on the detentions.

War Made Easy

War Made Easy reaches into the Orwellian memory hole to expose a 50-year pattern of government deception and media spin that has dragged the United States into one war after another from Vietnam to Iraq. Narrated by actor and activist Sean Penn, the film exhumes remarkable archival footage of official distortion and exaggeration from LBJ to George W. Bush, revealing in stunning detail how the American news media have uncritically disseminated the pro-war messages of successive presidential administrations.

College Student May Owe $80,000 After Coming Out as Lesbian

A student who received a full-ride ROTC scholarship to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill may now owe the Army nearly $80,000 for the money it put toward her tuition and books after coming out as a lesbian.

Sara Isaacson was notified in March that she was being discharged for violating “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” after informing the head of the university’s ROTC program of her sexual orientation in a formal memo, the Chronicle of Higher Education reported.

Along with the notice was a recommendation that she repay the $79,265.14 the government spent on her education, the paper reported.

Isaacson says keeping her sexual orientation a secret would put her at odds with one of the Army’s key virtues.

Obama wants $80 billion to upgrade nuclear arms complex

U.S. President Barack Obama sent a landmark arms-reduction treaty with Russia to the Senate on Thursday for ratification and called for $80 billion in nuclear funding, which could help win opposition support.

obama

Defense Secretary Robert Gates said the funds, which would be spent over a decade, were needed to "rebuild and sustain America's aging nuclear stockpile."

The treaty, which must be ratified by the U.S. Senate and Russia's parliament before it goes into force, would reduce the strategic nuclear arsenals deployed by the former Cold War foes by 30 percent within seven years.

Malawi gay couple who 'married' face harsh prison sentences

A man whose same-sex "marriage" has become a symbol of the struggle for gay rights in Africa has vowed to become a martyr rather than give in to homophobia, campaigners say. Tiwonge Chimbalanga and his partner Steven Monjeza are facing a possible 14 years in prison with hard labour after becoming the first gay couple in Malawi to declare their commitment in a public ceremony .

Monjeza-Chimbalanga

Peter Tatchell, the veteran British gay rights campaigner, has maintained contact with the pair at the maximum security Chichiri prison in Blantyre as they prepare to stand trial next week.

Tatchell told the Guardian he received a defiant message from Chimbalanga that said: "I love Steven so much. If people or the world cannot give me the chance and freedom to continue living with him as my lover, then I am better off to die here in prison. Freedom without him is useless and meaningless."

US troops executing prisoners in Afghanistan

The journalist who helped break the story that detainees at the Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq were being tortured by their US jailers told an audience at a journalism conference last month that American soldiers are now executing prisoners in Afghanistan.

New Yorker journalist Seymour Hersh also revealed that the Bush Administration had developed advanced plans for a military strike on Iran.

At the Global Investigative Journalism Conference in Geneva, Hersh criticized President Barack Obama, and alleged that US forces are engaged in "battlefield executions."

"I'll tell you right now, one of the great tragedies of my country is that Mr. Obama is looking the other way, because equally horrible things are happening to prisoners, to those we capture in Afghanistan," Hersh said. "They're being executed on the battlefield. It's unbelievable stuff going on there that doesn't necessarily get reported. Things don't change.

Italy arrests 'religious' drug ring

Police say they’ve busted a drug ring in northern Italy, where South American smugglers posed as religious pilgrims and snuck cocaine into a Catholic convent hidden in their prayer books — all unbeknownst to the nuns living there.

smoking-nuns

The convent’s janitor was the alleged mastermind of the ring. Police say he organized religious pilgrimages for South American drug cartel members who disguised themselves as pious visitors, then snuck cocaine into the convent hidden in their luggage and prayer books. The nuns were “completely unaware” of what he was up to.

The cocaine was then transferred from the convent in the northern city of Piacenza, just outside Milan, to a nearby safe house in Bergamo, where investigators say it was refined, cut and distributed out to drug dealers in several major cities.

US Police cite hundreds just for Cursing

Pennsylvania police wrongly charged hundreds of people with disorderly conduct for swearing, the American Civil Liberties Union said in a pair of free-speech lawsuits filed Wednesday.

cursing

ACLU lawyers reviewed 770 disorderly conduct citations issued by Pennsylvania State Police in a recent one-year span. They said they found that while officers applied the law correctly in some cases, the majority involved profanities and other legal, nonobscene speech.

"Using words of his own choosing, including profanity, Mr. Walters expressed his dismay with his local law enforcement official," his suit states. "You can't be arrested for saying that to an officer," A 31-year-old plumber told The Associated Press. "I could see if you're out of line, threatening them. I didn't do anything like that. It was clear-cut. I said what I said, and he said 'You're arrested.'"

The Horrible Whale and Dolphin Massacre tradition of Faroe Islands in Denmark

You would think that the first world countries in Europe such as Denmark would never succumbed itself to i killing dolphins and whales just because its a tradition? How barbaric are these people?

faroe massacre3

Every year, thousands and thousands of innocent dolphins and pilot whales are killed in the name of culture at the shores of Faroe Islands. The annual spring festival seems as if to have gone unnoticed for years and years. If no one is to stop this brutal massacre from happening ever again, the gentle sea creatures would be erased away from the surface of the earth forever. Sign the petition to help!

faroe massacre

Ironically, this practice, called grindadráp, is diminishing the population of 5,000 islanders.  Many of them get sick and die from high mercury levels in the whales.  Mentally retarded children are reportedly being born at alarmingly high rates.

PBS has a video about the mercury problem and this culture’s deeply held beliefs called ‘The Faroe Islands – Message from the Sea’, viewable here.

Thai threat to choke off red shirts

Thailand's military has warned that it will blockade anti-government protesters occupying the capital's commercial hub and could eventually use force if the so-called red shirts refuse to leave their camp.

thai_protesters-vs-military

Wednesday's announcement came after a warning the night before by the prime minister, Abhisit Vejjajiva, that security forces were ready to act if the protesters did not leave by Wednesday.

Colonel Sansern Kaewkamnerd, a military spokesman, said the government would cut power, water and food supplies as well as shut off entrances to the protesters' camp.

"The measures to cut water and power are the first measures. If the protest does not end, we have to fully enforce the law which may involve using force to reclaim the area," he said.

Lars Vilks Attacked at Uppsala University

Lars Vilks, the Swedish cartoonist who drew Mohammed as a dog, was recently told that a scheduled lecture on free speech, to be held at Jönköping Högskolan, would be canceled due to "security concerns." This, of course, is a common evasion, intended to protect the brittle sensibilities of Muslim students while supposedly standing four square behind the right of free speech.

Iraq risks Sectarian War

Iraq's former prime minister Iyad Allawi, who scored a surprise win in the recent general election, warned today that the country risks descending into a new sectarian war, with feuding politicians attempting to sideline his supporters and the international community standing idly by.

In an interview with the Guardian Allawi said that since the bitterly contested 7 March election, in which his Iraqiya party list won 91 seats, political groups had abandoned efforts to build a united government and were regressing into sectarianism, encouraged by Iran.

Allawi

Allawi, who led the country for nine turbulent months from early 2004 as a US-appointed transitional prime minister, also warned that unless America and its allies safeguarded Iraq's nascent democracy, renewed conflict could spread around the region.

"This conflict will not remain within the borders of Iraq," he said. "It will spill over and it has the potential to reach the world at large, not just neighbouring countries. Now Iraq is at centre stage in the region. But it is boiling with problems, it is stagnant and it can go either way.

"I feel that we are not done and that the international community has failed this country."

Body uniformity

male-mannequin

So the male mannequins are getting skinnier as we in the general population get larger. No surprise there. The twinning of skinniness with girth growth has been evident since the days of Twiggy, when the formally differently sized and shaped female population were exhorted to take on this new diminishing of a woman's form and, as a result, got larger.

twiggy

Not that it was Twiggy's fault, but the ubiquity of her image created a sense in young women that to be stylish meant to be skinny, flat-chested with an ingĂ©nue face and straight hair. We women, and there were millions of us, tried to fit to the mode. There was dieting, lots and lots of it, and while it worked for some – for some of the time – mostly women got bigger rather than smaller as dieting cycling sent them on the fastest way to gain weight.
