30 Days, 30 Songs
30 Days, 30 Songs is an independent website that will release one song per day from October 10 until Election Day. It is produced by the creators of 90 Days, 90 Reasons, which sought to motivate voters to give President Obama a second term, and it features work from artists across the country. As artists, we are united in our desire to speak out against the ignorant, divisive, and hateful campaign of Donald Trump. We will not be duped by Mr. Trump’s rhetorical contortions, by his pandering and lies and false promises. He has shown the content of his character time and time again, and the very fact of his candidacy is a blight on the nation. His words incite hatred and celebrate inequity. Most troubling of all, over the past year, the country has become inured to the towering vileness of his rhetoric and deeds, his attacks on women, Mexican-Americans, Muslims, and those with disabilities. But we have to remember these acts, and act against them. In the words of Cornell West, we cannot become "well-adjusted to injustice.” Artists for a Trump-free America - 30days30songs.com

Free Ivanka!
"Looking at the crowd of cretins encircling the Donald Trump campaign, the bigoted Republican presidential candidate, it’s hard to spot one who seems redeemable. But just outside the ring of riffraff, gleaming in a pinky-white haze like Glinda the Good Witch, is his daughter Ivanka, the lovely, polite, family-friendly, successful purveyor of tastefully designed, affordable attire for hard-working women.
It was Ivanka, by all accounts, who pushed her father to include a proposal for paid maternity leave and a tax deduction for child-care expenses in his campaign promises. Never mind that the plan is kind of crappy; Ivanka really seems to mean well. If only she weren’t supporting the presidential candidacy of a demonstrable misogynist and bigot, she’d be more believable.
Given the abusive nature of her father, you’d think Ivanka would have rebelled by now. Surely, it can’t be pleasant to be around the Donald as he hurls sexist invective at other successful women, such as Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly and celebrity Rosie O'Donnell. Ivanka surely has the wherewithal to succeed without Daddy; he doesn’t own her brain, right? ... Or does he?"

Murders of Trans Women Can't Be Separated from US Anti-Trans Laws
As many as 20 transgender women have been killed (in the US) so far this year, including 28-year-old Rae’Lynn Thomas, a black transgender woman who was fatally shot by her mother’s ex-boyfriend in Columbus, Ohio, last month. Family members say the shooter, James Allen Byrd, frequently made transphobic comments to Rae’Lynn and sometimes called her "the devil." There are now reports that another transgender woman may have been murdered over the weekend on the West Side of Chicago. The Chicago police have confirmed a body was found on Sunday, but have not released details. We discuss the escalation in violence against transgender women with Chase Strangio, staff attorney at the ACLU. http://democracynow.org

What is the ethicicy of groups such as the Bohemian Club? Considering such a sizable number of arms dealers and manufacturers make up their number that they have their own patrilineal housing on the encampment and the fact that both Skull and Bones and Bohemian Grove were both rumored to be discussion areas for the Manhattan Project (the eventual A-Bombing of Japan) during the mid-1940s demonstrates considerable ethical problems in the realm of violently taking life for business concerns.

Fight The Power
Public Enemy - "Fight the Power" is a 1989 song by hip hop group Public Enemy. First released on the soundtrack for the film Do the Right Thing (Rosie Perez dances to the song over the opening credits), an edited version was released in 1990 on Public Enemy's third album, Fear of a Black Planet. The song has largely served as the political statement of purpose for the group, and is their biggest single. "Fight the Power" was recently ranked #1 on VH1's 100 Greatest Songs of Hip Hop, further demonstrating the impact of the song.[1] The single reached #1 on Hot Rap Singles and #20 on the Hot R&B Singles.

The tragic bear that suffers for selfies
Trapped in the middle of a shopping centre in China - his white fur contrasting against the unnaturally blue display he is an unwilling part of - this sad polar bear has no escape.
Nowhere to hide from people taking photos – banging on the windows and shouting. Nothing natural, no attempt to create an environment that would meet the needs of any living bear – never mind this vast magnificent animal.

West Tampers with Burgers, Whiskey to Induce Birth of Girls among Muslims
In a 2013 show on the Saudi channel Dana TV, Saudi cleric Ali Al-Malki warned viewers that Western burger chains, such as McDonald's and Harvey's, tamper with the meat in order “to kill the male genes” among Muslim men and women and make them give birth to girls rather than boys. Sheikh Al-Malki further complained that Saudi Arabia exports all its prime agricultural produce to America and in return, America exports whiskey to Saudi Arabia. “Some of that whiskey is not fresh,” he said. “It’s defective.”

Libya's Quiet War: The Tuareg of South Libya
In remote southwest Sahara, the indigenous Tuareg tribe — variously used and discriminated against by former strongman Muammar Qaddafi — fight for their place in a post-revolutionary Libya.
Living deep in Libya’s desert near large oil fields and lucrative smuggling routes, hundreds of miles from Libya’s capital, the Tuareg find themselves impoverished and isolated on this prized land.
Nowhere is this felt more than in the oasis town of Ubari. Here the Tuareg are pitted against former neighbors in a proxy battle for assets and power, backed by government and international interests.
VICE News travels to meet the Tuareg on the front lines of Ubari and the border town of Ghat, to find out what is really happening in this rarely visited land.

Aid to reach starving Syrian town of Madaya by Monday
Aid deliveries bringing food, medical supplies and blankets to three towns in Syria where residents say they are starving to death will begin by Sunday or Monday, a Red Cross official has said. The official called for humanitarian organisations to be granted unimpeded access to all areas under siege in Syria, saying one-off deliveries were not enough to prevent civilians from starving.
Madaya, located 1,300 metres above sea level in a mountainous region straddling the border with Lebanon, is home to 30,000 people who have been under siege since July, as part of a complicated power play. Their fate is tied to Fua and Kefraya, two Shia villages in northern Syria besieged by rebels belonging to a coalition called Jaysh al-Fateh. Backers of the government and the rebels are attempting to orchestrate a population swap but it has been repeatedly delayed.
Médecins sans Frontières said on Thursday night that 23 people had died of starvation in Madaya since 1 December.
