The Mystery Of The 9/11 Car Bombs

Another big piece by Steve Watson

A much underreported aspect of the 9/11 attacks is one that concerns transmissions, sightings, reports and statements alluding to multiple mysterious suspects in different vans packed with explosives that were stopped and detained in New York while the towers were burning and in the aftermath of the attacks. Some evidence even suggests that some of these vehicles actually exploded, and at least one was reported by mainstream media sourcing the FBI as having been parked at the base of one of the towers when it exploded and aided the collapse of the tower.

At first it sounds outlandish, but were teams of "terrorists" with huge amounts of explosives roaming around on the ground in New York on September 11th ready to jump into action and attack whichever structures or buildings they were ordered to target? Much more at: Infowars.net

Tokyo Hostess Clubs

A Japanese businessman has been acquitted of raping and killing British bar hostess Lucie Blackman in 2000. But he was convicted of killing an Australian hostess, Carita Ridgway. Carita and Lucie were among thousands of foreign women who have been lured to work in one of Japan's hostess clubs.

A woman working as a hostess in a Japanese bar has to concentrate on just one task, keeping the customer happy. Happy customers stay longer. They drink more of the bars' expensive drinks. That means more commissions for the hostess and more profits for the bar. There are thousands of hostess bars in Tokyo. BBC

Joji Obara has been acquitted of charges connected to the death of Lucie Blackman, but sentenced to life imprisonment for a series of other charges. Key evidence was allegedly not presented during the trial which could have confirmed Obara's connection with Lucie's death. The judges in summing up stated that all condolence payments made to victim's families would not be considered in either verdict or sentence. More on the Lucie Blackman Trust website.

The Great Global Warming Swindle

"We've almost begun to take it for granted that climate change is a man-made phenomenon. But just as the environmental lobby think they've got our attention, a group of naysayers have emerged to slay the whole premise of global warming."

See this, it is an eyeopener!

Neo-Cons To Spin VA Massacre As Terrorist Attack

Propaganda junkies may milk "Ismail Ax" to say bloodshed was spurred by militant Islam

Neo-Con media cheerleaders for the Bush administration's war on terror are set to connect killer Cho Seung-Hui with militant Islam as an excuse to propagandize the notion that Monday's VA Tech Massacre was a terrorist attack.
Reports state that Seung-Hui wrote two words on his arm in red ink before carrying out the bloodbath - "Ismail Ax."

Explanations as to the meaning of the words vary but according to a Chicago Tribune report, "One popular theory spreading across the web comes from a story in the Koran, the holy book of Islam, about Ibrahim and his son, Ismail. This theory picked up speed because many bloggers wondered if the actions at Virginia Tech could be related to terrorism."

"In Islam, Ibrahim is known as the father of the prophets and, upset that people in his hometown still worshiped idols and not Allah, he smashed all but one statue in a local temple with an ax. Ibrahim's son is Ismail, who also became a prophet. Ibrahim is Arabic for Abraham, who plays a significant role in Christianity, Judaism and Islam." Shameless Wolfowitz

Leave it to the corporate media to make a big deal out of Paul Wolfowitz’s shameless promotion of his girlfriend, Shaha Riza, while ignoring the larger story—the fait accompli fusion of neoliberal and neocon policies at the World Bank and the IMF.

“The neolib-neocon fusion is personified by Wolfowitz, close ally of the exceptionally corrupt, brutal Indonesian dictator Suharto during the 1980s and more recently, as deputy Pentagon leader, architect of and apologist for imperial theft and US corporate patronage associated with the illegal Iraq War,” writes Patrick Bond.

In fact, appointing the warmonger Wolfowitz to head up the World Bank was a studied choice—sort of like appointing a wolf to watch over a chicken coop—as the “relationship between globalization and militarism,” as Gwyn Kirk and Margo Okazawa-Rey note, “should be seen as two sides of the same coin. On one side, globalization promotes the conditions that lead to unrest, inequality, conflict, and, ultimately, war. On the other side, globalization fuels the means to wage war by protecting and promoting the military industries needed to produce sophisticated weaponry. This weaponry, in turn, is used or is threatened to be used to protect the investments of transnational corporations and their shareholders.”

According to the UK Telegraph, the “affair is particularly embarrassing for Mr. Wolfowitz as one of his key campaigns at the World Bank has been to root out corruption and poor governance in developing countries.”

Argentine Anticommunist Alliance Princess

The Crown-prince here in the Netherlands, prince Willen-Alexander, and his Argentinian wife Máxima Zorreguieta named their third child Ariane. The first two are Amalia and Alexia. They told the press that they liked the triple A.

Knowing Maxima is daughter of a member of the junta-governement this must refer to The Argentine Anticommunist Alliance (Spanish: Alianza Anticomunista Argentina, usually known as Triple A or AAA), a far-right death squad active in Argentina during the mid-1970s. It later became linked to the military junta led by Jorge Rafael Videla (1976-1983) and played a prominent role in the "Dirty War". This period was characterized by frequent terrorist attacks by radical left-wing groups, and harsh repression of dissidence on the part of the military, paramilitary and police forces.

Farm Suicides in India, The Result of Free Market

There have been some 250 farm suicides in just the first three months of this year. Things could be a lot worse after June. And, as always, the farm suicides are a symptom of the crisis, not its cause.

Farm Suicides in Maharashtra rose by over 354 per cent between 1995 and 2003. That's if the data of the National Crime Records Bureau are anything to go by. Strictly speaking they are not, being gross under-estimates. They draw from local machinery, which from region to region leaves out thousands from the lists of farm suicides. Yet, they still present a clear trend — a painful one. Even these twisted numbers show that farm suicides went up from 1,083 in 1995 to 3,836 eight years later.

For one thing, these figures are for all of Maharashtra. Which means if we were looking at just Vidharbha or Marathwada, the rise would be more horrendous. For another, these regions saw their greatest spurt in farm suicides after 2003 — where the last available NCRB data stops. The government of Maharashtra admits to 1,447 farm suicides in 2006 alone. And that's in only six districts of Vidharbha. So just these six districts saw far more suicides in 2006 than the whole State did in 1995. That's if we give credence to official readings of the data. Iran waiting to see U.S.-held Iranians in Iraq

Iran has still not received a reply to a request to visit five Iranians held by U.S. forces in Iraq, an Iranian official in Baghdad was quoted on Saturday as saying by Iran's ISNA news agency.

He also said Iran had yet to announce if Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki would hold direct talks on Iraq with Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, who U.S. officials say is open to such a meeting at multilateral talks due in May.

Washington accuses Iran of stoking violence in Iraq and in January detained five men it says were linked to Iran's Revolutionary Guards and backing militants. Iran insists they are diplomats, wants them freed and has requested access. More at Reuters

Iran's ambassador to London has said Britain should respond "in a positive way" to the release of the 15 Royal Navy personnel held for 13 days.
Rasoul Movahedian said that Iran wanted help to release five Iranians held by the US in Iraq, and to ease fears over its nuclear programme. More at BBC

Global Warming causes Hunger and Extinction

TOP climate experts have warned that global warming will cause faster and wider damage than previously forecast, ranging from hunger in Africa and Asia to extinctions and rising ocean levels.

More than 100 nations in the UN climate panel agreed a final text after all-night disputes with some scientists accusing government delegates of watering down their findings in a draft 21-page summary for policymakers. Bush family links to Osama bin Laden and Saddam Hussein

How the Bush family's private connection to a dirty offshore bank is the only link between Osama bin Laden and Saddam Hussein

From: "The BCCI Game: Banking on America, Banking on Jihad," appears in investigative journalist Lucy Komisar's new book "A Game as Old as Empire," just published by Berrett-Koehler (San Francisco).

"The Arabs' interest in the BCCI bank was more than financial. A classified CIA memo on BCCI in the mid-1980s said that "its principal shareholders are among the power elite of the Middle East, including the rulers of Dubai and the United Arab Emirates, and several influential Saudi Arabians. They are less interested in profitability than in promoting the Muslim cause."

The Bushes' private links to the bank passed to Bin Mahfouz through Texas businessman James R. Bath, who invested money in the United States on behalf of the Saudi regime. In 1976, when Bush was the head of the CIA, the agency sold some of the planes of Air America, a secret "proprietary" airline it used during the Vietnam War, to Skyway, a company owned by Bath and Bin Mahfouz. Bath then helped finance George W. Bush's oil company, Arbusto Energy Inc., in 1979 and 1980."

Hong Kong Reports Mainland Chinese Eating Infants

The Next Magazine, a weekly publication from Hong Kong, reported that infant corpses and fetuses have become the newest supplements for health and beauty in China.

Not only is the placenta considered a beauty remedy, but also aborted fetuses are much sought after delicacies. In Guangdong, gourmet body parts are in high demand and can even be purchased through hospitals. The magazine's investigations into this form of cannibalism took them to Liaoning province.

According to The Next Magazine, during a banquet hosted by a Taiwanese businessman, a servant Ms Liu from Liaoning province on the mainland inadvertently revealed the habit of eating infants/fetuses in Liaoning province and her intention to return for the supplement due to health concerns. The Taiwanese women present were horrified.

Ms Liu also disclosed that even though people can afford the human parts there are still waiting lists and those with the right connections get the "highest quality" human parts, which translates to the more mature fetuses. A male fetus is considered the "prime" human part. More on Epoch Times

Honoring Adolf

Thousands of German cities awarded Hitler honorary citizenship during his lifetime. Most were quick to revoke the title after 1945, but some, like the G8 summit venue of Bad Doberan, forgot to do so -- and are now left with red faces.

Bad Doberan still has to get used to being in the international spotlight. This June, the heads of the eight leading industrialized nations will descend on the sleepy eastern German town to discuss global issues at the G8 summit.

But too much attention can bring to light inconvenient truths, as the people of Bad Doberan are learning to their cost: they stand accused of still having Adolf Hitler, the ultimate persona non grata, as one of their city's honorary citizens. In a pioneering gesture, their city council awarded the dictator the title in 1932, but -- in contrast to most of Hitler's honorary citizenships elsewhere -- it seems to never have been officially revoked. The Trap

Politicians promised to liberate us from the old dead hand of bureaucracy, but they have created an evermore controlling system of social management, driven by targets and numbers. Governments committed to freedom of choice have presided over a rise in inequality and a dramatic collapse in social mobility. And abroad, in Iraq and Afghanistan, the attempt to enforce freedom has led to bloody mayhem and the rise of an authoritarian anti-democratic Islamism. This, in turn, has helped inspire terrorist attacks in Britain. In response, the Government has dismantled long-standing laws designed to protect our freedom.

U.N. approves bans on defamation of religion

The UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC) has placed a ban on any public defamation of religion following proposals by Islamic nations to respect people's religious beliefs and convictions across the world.

The UNHRC, which has replaced the discredited former U.N. Human Rights Commission, adopted the resolution with a 24-14 vote with nine abstentions, the AP reported.

Last year Muslim nations across the globe were sent into furore and anger after a Danish newspaper published caricatures of the Muslim Prophet Muhammad.
