Portrait Litvinenko used for target practice

The head of a center that trains security personnel and held a competition for Russian special forces confirmed Tuesday that it has used shooting targets showing the photo of a former agent who was fatally poisoned in London last year.

However, Sergei Lysyuk, head of the Vityaz Center, said he had been unaware that the photo target showed the poisoned ex-agent, Alexander Litvinenko. "The fact that it was Litvinenko, we only found out later from the press," Lysyuk told The Associated Press. "We did not shoot at Litvinenko, we shot at a target."

Was 9/11 really that bad?

L.A. Times: The attacks were a horrible act of mass murder, but history says we're overreacting.

Imagine that on 9/11, six hours after the assault on the twin towers and the Pentagon, terrorists had carried out a second wave of attacks on the United States, taking an additional 3,000 lives. Imagine that six hours after that, there had been
yet another wave. Now imagine that the attacks had continued, every six hours, for another four years, until nearly 20 million Americans were dead. This is roughly what the Soviet Union suffered during World War II, and contemplating these numbers may help put in perspective what the United States has so far experienced during the war against terrorism.

World War III has already begun

Former head of Israel's intelligence service tells Portuguese newspaper it would take at least 25 years before battle against fundamentalist terrorism is won; says nuclear strike by Muslim terrorists 'very likely'

A third World War is already underway between Islamic militancy and the West but most people do not realize it, the former head of Israel’s intelligence service Mossad said in an interview published Saturday in Portugal.
‘We are in the midst of a third World War,’ former Mossad chief Efraim Halevy told weekly newspaper Expresso.

‘The world does not understand. A person walks through the streets of Tel Aviv, Barcelona or Buenos Aires and doesn’t get the sense that there is a war going on,’ said Halevy who headed Mossad between 1998 and 2003.‘During World War I and II the entire world felt there was a war. Today no one is conscious of it. From time to time there is a terrorist attack in Madrid, London and New York and then everything stays the same.’Violence by Islamic militants has already disrupted international travel and trade just as in the previous two world conflicts, he said.

Secret Service Campaign Against Yogis

On March 18th, 2004 Mass media in Romania, began a large press campaign against the Yoga school M.I.S.A (the Movement for Spiritual Integration in the Absolute) and against its spiritual mentor Gregorian Bivolaru that reached amazing proportions. By this press campaign people has been misinformed and controlled, without any opportunity for M.I.S.A or the accused persons to present the truth and to express their point of view. The goal was to instigate people to hate and persecutions and to begin a so-called “witches' hunting”.

Shocking Iraq Video

Shi'a Iraqi soldiers beat Sunnis as US trainers watch

Dramatic footage of mostly Shi'a Iraqi soldiers delivering a "brutal beating" to several local Sunnis has been obtained by a British public-service television station. US soldiers assigned to train the Iraqi troops look on as the Iraqi soldiers push the beaten men into the rear compartment of an armored vehicle.

"It is a shocking insight into the sectarian violence that is tearing Baghdad apart," Jonathan Miller reports for Channel Four. "Two journalists – embedded with the First Cavalry division – witnessed suspected insurgents being viciously beaten and abused." More on The Raw Story

Big Brother Storms The Playground

Children in Britain are having their fingerprints taken at what some parents believe is an alarming rate.

Over the past four years, more than 700,000 schoolchildren aged three to 11 have been fingerprinted and photographed as part of the Junior Librarian scheme. More than 3,500 schools have signed up and new schools are joining at a rate of 20 a week. Many of them do not even seek parental consent before fingerprinting children.

Junior Librarian is the brainchild of Micro Librarian Systems. The child presses his or her thumb on to a scanner; the machine takes a reading, converts it into a unique number, and stores the child's information.

This means children no longer have to carry around (and lose) library cards. Instead they stick their thumb in a scanning machine that records which books they've borrowed. More on The First Post

Hillary A Warmongering Closet Republican

Cindy Sheehan: "On Thursday, January 18th, Senator Clinton introduced a meaningless bill to put a cap on the number of soldiers that can be in Iraq set at January 1st levels. It is as weak and meaningless as the non-binding resolution and a politically safe move, since almost 3/4 of the country oppose the war and oppose Bloody George.

When she introduced her Senate bill last Thursday, over 1000 of our young people have come home in body bags and tens of thousands of innocent Iraqis have died while she was waiting for the best political time to be semi-against the war. How many of our troops are lying in Walter Reed with devastating injuries that could have been prevented if a Senate leader like Clinton would have taken a moral, instead of political stance?"

Raping President

Israel's President Moshe Katsav will be indicted on rape charges, the Israeli Justice Ministry said Tuesday.

Israeli Attorney General Menachem Mazuz determined that there is enough evidence to charge Katsav with the crimes, which stem from allegations from four women who worked for the Israeli president, the ministry said.

Three months ago, Mazuz recommended Katsav temporarily step down as president -- a mostly ceremonial position in Israel's government -- as he considered a number of charges against Katsav, including rape, indecent assault, and sexual harassment.

Nuclear War, Here We Come

The stage is set for a chain of events that could lead to nuclear war over chemical weapons in the immediate future. If these events unfold, the trigger will be Israel, the target Iran, the nuclear aggressor the U.S.

- According to the CIA, "Iran likely has already stockpiled blister, blood, choking, and probably nerve agents – and the bombs and artillery shells to deliver them – which it previously had manufactured."

- Israel bombed Iraq's Osirak nuclear reactor (which was under IAEA supervision) in 1981 just before nuclear fuel was loaded into it (to prevent nuclear fallout).

- President Bush has said that "all options are on the table" if diplomacy fails to halt Iran's nuclear program.

Muslim Group Upset About '24' Terrorists

A group of Muslim activists who challenged 24 bosses over the show's portrayal of Islamic terrorists two seasons ago are attacking the program again.

Officials at the Council on American-Islamic Relations met with producers back in 2005 when the 24 plot revolved around Muslim fundamentalists, and now they're upset again because the new season seems to portray members of their religion in the same shady light. Council spokesman Rabiah Ahmed says, "The overwhelming impression you get is fear and hatred for Muslims. After watching the premiere, I was afraid to go to the grocery store because I wasn't sure the person next to me would be able to differentiate between fiction and reality." The activists urged the show's bosses to meet with them again, but this time only succeeded in bringing them around a table for a conference call.

Following original meetings in 2005, 24 star Kiefer Sutherland appeared in a TV commercial urging viewers not to assume all Muslims were like the terrorists portrayed in his series. IMDb News and more on CNN:"Muslims protest '24'"

Chinese Space War

China successfully carried out its first test of an antisatellite weapon last week, signaling its resolve to play a major role in military space activities and bringing expressions of concern from Washington and other capitals, the Bush administration said yesterday.

Only two nations — the Soviet Union and the United States — have previously destroyed spacecraft in antisatellite tests, most recently the United States in the mid-1980s.

Arms control experts called the test, in which the weapon destroyed an aging Chinese weather satellite, a troubling development that could foreshadow an antisatellite arms race. Alternatively, however, some experts speculated that it could precede a diplomatic effort by China to prod the Bush administration into negotiations on a weapons ban. Prelude towards becoming a Total Police State

US President Orders Military To Begin Jailing All Civilian Protestors To War

In yet another shocking prelude towards becoming a Total Police State, Russian Intelligence Analysts are reporting today that the American War Leaders have issued orders to the United States Military Northern Command authorizing the jailing, and military tribunals, for any American citizen critical of the ‘war effort’.

These reports state that the American President has ‘lost his confidence’ in the American Judicial System and has further ordered his War Cabinet to begin attacking civilian judges, and as we can read as confirmed by the MSNBC News Service in their article titled "Gonzales: Judges unfit to rule on terror policy", and which says:

"Attorney General Alberto Gonzales says federal judges are unqualified to make rulings affecting national security policy, ramping up his criticism of how they handle terrorism cases."

“We want to determine whether he understands the inherent limits that make an unelected judiciary inferior to Congress or the president in making policy judgments,” Gonzales says in the prepared speech. “That, for example, a judge will never be in the best position to know what is in the national security interests of our country.” More on WhatDoesItMean, it has got a lot of links to related stories

Was Muqtada al-Sadr Saddam's hangman?

Did Muqtada al-Sadr hang Saddam himself?

They think so here,

The Sunni pro-Baathist website Iraqi Rabita has claimed that one of the masked men who put the noose around Saddam’s neck was in fact Muqtada al Sadr. The website posted photos from the execution film and pointed to the man they suspected was Muqtada. They compared the masked man’s facial hair (what was visible) and his ring, with those of Muqtada. They claimed this was why the onlookers were chanting for Muqtada. More at Iraq Slogger

Doomsday Clock Moves Closer to Midnight

The world is nudging closer to nuclear or environmental apocalypse, a group of prominent scientists warned Wednesday as it pushed the hand of its symbolic Doomsday Clock closer to midnight.

The clock, which was set two minutes forward to 11:55, represents the likelihood of a global cataclysm. Its ticks have given the clock's keepers a chance to speak out on the dangers they see threatening Earth.

It was the fourth time since the Soviet collapse in 1991 that the clock ticked forward amid fears over what the scientists describe as ``a second nuclear age'' prompted largely by standoffs with Iran and North Korea. But urgent warnings of climate change also played a role. More at the Guardian.

Boys Across World Die Mimicking Saddam Hanging

Fresh from FOX News, Fair and Balanced, but not on a chair...

Children and juveniles.
Possibly the youngest children ever executed in Britain were Michael Hammond and his sister, Ann, whose ages were given as 7 and 11 respectively in a book published in 1907. Previously, no claims as to their precise ages had been made, although they were referred to as being “under age,” without specifying what this term actually meant, and as “the Boy and the Girl” as they were both small. They were reportedly hanged at (Kings) Lynn on Wednesday, the 28th of September 1708 for theft. The local press did not, however, consider the executions of two children newsworthy! A painting of the two being taken in the cart to the gallows appears in Paul Richard’s book ”King’s Lynn”. It was reported that there was violent thunder and lightning after the execution and that their hangman, Anthony Smyth, died within a fortnight of it.

Protesters rally against 'BNP ballerina'

Anti-fascist protesters staged a noisy demonstration outside the home of the English National Ballet today as "BNP ballerina" Simone Clarke prepared to take the stage. Principal dancer Clarke is due to dance the lead role in a matinee performance of Giselle - the first time she has performed in public since she was outed as a British National Party member. More here

Ms Clarke, whose partner Yat Sen-Chang is an acclaimed dancer of Chinese-Cuban extraction, went on to defend her membership in a detailed interview with the Mail on Sunday, saying the BNP was the only party "willing to take a stand" against immigration.

Yesterday campaigners said that she was using her position to promote the far right party's policies. Weyman Bennett, of the group Unite Against Fascism, said: "We are calling on all who have an appreciation for the arts to demand that the promotion of racist and fascist politics is incompatible with an institution such as the English National Ballet."

The row is becoming increasingly difficult for the English National Ballet, which as a publicly funded organisation is obliged by the Race Relations Act of 2000 to promote good race relations. More on the protests here

Road to US War with Iran

Recent U.S. military raids against Iranians in Iraq were authorized by President George W. Bush but do not mark a widening of the conflict, U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said.

She told the New York Times Bush had given an order for a broad offensive against Iranian operatives in Iraq. "That's not escalation, that's just good policy," she said. REUTERS BBC

Iran had set up the embassy at the request of the Kurdish governor-general who was not informed of US intentions to raid the facility and kidnap its employees. The American soldiers confiscated computers and documents just five hours after Bush had threatened Iran in his address to the nation.

Clearly, Bush is looking for a way to provoke a military confrontation with Iran. Now he has five Iranian hostages at his disposal to help him achieve that goal.

Will the mullahs overreact or will they show restraint and try to prevent a larger conflict?

Bush's hostility towards Iran was evident in comments he made in Wednesday night's speech:

"Succeeding in Iraq also requires defending its territorial integrity and stabilizing the region in the face of extremist challenges. This begins with addressing Iran and Syria. These two regimes are allowing terrorists and insurgents to use their territory to move in and out of Iraq. Iran is providing material support for attacks on American troops. We will disrupt the attacks on our forces. We will interrupt the flow of support from Iran and Syria. And we will seek out and destroy the networks providing advanced weaponry and training to our enemies in Iraq."

NATO LEADERS CONTROLLED BY BILDERBERG

To understand who controls the leadership of NATO, the world's biggest military operation and now the 'World Army', you only have to look at the connection of the NATO Secretary-Generals to the Bilderberg Group.

The earlier sec-gens do not appear to have been Bilderberg attendees, but if you know different, please let me know. These were Lord Ismay (1952-1957), Paul Henri Spaak (1957-1961), Dirk U. Stikker (1961-1964), and Manlio Brosio (1964-1971).

After that leader of NATO has become a Bilderberg appointment.

They are:

Joseph Luns (1971-1984) Bilderberg Group

Lord Carrington (1984-1988) Bilderberg Group, chairman 1991-1998

Manfred Wörner (1988-1994) Bilderberg Group

Willy Claes (1994-1995) Bilderberg Group

Javier Solana (1995-1999) Bilderberg Group

Lord Robertson (1999-2003 ) Bilderberg Group

And now De Hoop Scheffer....

How much easier it therefore becomes to instigate Bilderberg policy in the Gulf, Bosnia, Kosovo, etc., etc..

American Gulag

The Bush administration may already be contemplating what to do with Americans who are deemed insufficiently loyal or who disseminate information that may be considered helpful to the enemy. Top U.S. officials have cited the need to challenge news that undercuts Bush's actions as a key front in defeating the terrorists, who are aided by "news informers," in the words of Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld.

Plus, there was that curious development in January when the Army Corps of Engineers awarded Halliburton subsidiary Kellogg Brown & Root a $385 million contract to construct detention centers somewhere in the United States, to deal with "an emergency influx of immigrants into the U.S., or to support the rapid development of new programs," Read Alternet: "Bush's Mysterious 'New Programs" and PrisonPlanet:"A detention camp in Taylor Texas that currently holds hundreds of rebuffed asylum seekers who legally entered the country, half of which are children swept up in midnight raids, is a potential prime location for the enforced transfer of American citizens during a time of national emergency." Neocons Attack “al-Qaeda” in Somalia

Stanislaw Wielgus, who will be sworn in this weekend as archbishop of Warsaw, is seen here in Plock in November 2006. Wielgus was a "secret and conscious" collaborator with Poland's hated communist-era security forces, newspapers have reported.

Yahoo More at Wikipedia and http://www.poland.pl: "Controversy over Archbishop Wielgus still boiling. Many Polish clergy and reportedly the Vatican don't believe Archbishop Wielgus was a communist spy; journalists promise to produce documents."

According to Gazeta Polska Archbishop Wielgus was one of the most important communist spies in the Catholic Church. He is supposed to have started collaboration back in the 1960s and worked initially for the department dedicated to destroying the Catholic Church. Allegedly, he agreed to cooperation with the communist services in exchange for an opportunity to pursue his scientific career abroad. See Free Republic for the best about the controversy

UN Child Sex Slave Scandals Continue

Wave after wave of child abuse reports pour forward from all over the globe

The UN is to investigate itself again after it was revealed by the London Telegraph today that more than twenty different cases of child sex slavery involving UN staff have been reported in southern Sudan.

The Telegraph reports that it has learned of dozens of victims’ accounts claiming that some peacekeeping and civilian staff based in the town are regularly picking up young children in their UN vehicles and forcing them to have sex. The Telegraph states that it is thought that hundreds of children may have been abused.

The UN has up to 10,000 military personnel in the region, of all nationalities and the allegations involve peacekeepers, military police and civilian staff.

The Telegraph also states that the Sudanese government, which is deeply opposed to the deployment of UN troops to Darfur, has evidence of child sex slavery, including video footage of Bangladeshi UN workers allegedly having sex with three young girls.

“There was an infiltration at the execution chamber.”

A senior Interior Ministry official said the hanging was supposed to be carried out by hangmen employed by the Interior Ministry, but that “militias” had managed to infiltrate the executioners’ team.

An official execution video, which had no sound and ended before Saddam falls through the trapdoor, boosted Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki’s authority among his fractious Shiite allies. The Dawn of the Feminist Police State

Couples all experience stress, especially if they have children. Now a woman having a tantrum can incarcerate her husband simply by dialling 911. She can hold this threat over his head.

The policy undermines male leadership. A husband called his wife "lazy." A neighbor told her to "teach him a lesson." So she called the police and falsely charged him with slapping her.

"Now she needs help with the children and but we have to live apart," he said outside court. "She is very upset and sorry."

"Women make false charges like crazy," a Legal Aid lawyer said. There is no penalty for doing this.

Heterosexuals should wake up and smell the coffee. We have been under sustained attack for over 40 years. It is no accident that the roles of wife and mother have become stigmatized and men have been demonized.
